General Description

Eventful SchoolSync (ESS) connects the Student Information System (SIS) with services such as Microsoft School Data Sync, Google Classroom, and other educational platforms. ESS improves data quality, reduces manual handling, and automatically creates and populates Microsoft Teams and Google Classrooms.

ESS consists of several modules that are combined into a tailored setup for each customer. The primary purpose is to synchronize teaching groups to Microsoft’s or Google’s cloud services, but ESS also supports a wide range of other school-related systems.

ESS can synchronize users, groups, schools, and user roles to both group and school structures.

System Requirements

General Requirements

Depending on the SIS, ESS may run either in Eventful’s environment or in the customer’s environment.

To run ESS, the following requirements apply to the server environment:

• Windows Server 2012, 2016, or 2019
• .NET Framework 3.5
• Access to the built‑in Windows Task Scheduler for scheduling synchronizations

Requirements in the Customer Environment

The following requirements must be met for Eventful to provide support for ESS when it runs in the customer’s environment:

• Permanent remote access to the environment
• Administrator account on the server where ESS is installed
• Service account for scheduling synchronization (must have “log on as a batch job” permission)
• Ability to perform secure upload (HTTPS / port 443 must be open externally)
